Artist's Comments

I've been teaching myself to use acrylics using layering and glazing. I am pretty happy with how this turned out, even though it's not a perfect job by far, but it's a start. It can only get better from now on.

Thank you so very much. I honestly thought I wasn't really interested in painting scenery, as I always felt "drawn" to paint portraits, but I needed to learn the layering technique in order to improve in the portraits. When I saw the photo, immediately I was drawn to it because of its simplicity and it would be a good practice for me. I also looked at your gallery and I feel honored to get your opinion on my work. Thank you again. It's very uplifting. :handshake:

Once you start painting a landscape, it is hard not to enjoy it. :)
Layering is important part of painting.

You're welcome! :)

I have been to New Zealand a number of times and I too love it and have painted a number of pieces from there. I like your acrylic. Glazing is a good technique. I teach it. Good luck and just keep painting. As a teacher once told me seeing me stare at a blank canvas, " It's only paint"!
